Incorrect trap setting is one of the things that is going to end up killing your new skunk friend if you are not careful, and this kind of goes against the point of trying to humanely relocate it! There are a few tips that you should use in order to effectively trap your new skunk wanderer:1. For best results, try to make sure that your trap is safely secured to the ground. The animal might not look like much, but it does have the strength to throw itself around and cause quite a bit of damage if you are not careful.Always test the trigger! There is no point in going to all the trouble of setting traps up if they are not going to work. The door should shut properly when the skunk wanders into your trap, setting the mechanism off - make sure this happens, otherwise injury could occur. Check out where your skunk is coming to and from - this will help you to place the trap in the right place, but also have it so that it is facing the right direction. This will ensure that you trap the skunk in the quickest time possible. Make sure that your trap is in such a position that the animal cannot climb on top of it. This could cause the mechanism to spring without the animal actually being inside and will just prove to be a waste of your time. Use a good bait. Skunks love sugary, sweet foods such as apples or kiwi. Alternatively, you could try cat food - they seem to love this. Make sure that you check your trap on a daily basis. There is no point in trying to humanely trap an skunk if you are going to leave it there to starve for a couple of days. Check the traps at least once a day, preferably in the morning.

I am a University student renting a very old home and I constantly hear (thanks to you, I know they are) squirrels running through the walls and basement ceiling/main level floor and rolling their nuts around. My question is, if there are squirrels there is that all, or could they reside along with mice/rats? We have found evidence of mice in some of our kitchen cupboards and our garage and I'm terrified there might be millions in the walls as well. Or would the squirrels kick them out? Hi there, heard I could get some help from you regarding squirrels getting into our house/attic. So my husband went up on the roof and noticed a very small hole in the roof joints from the lower part of the roof that meets the higher part of the roof and we got a wildlife person to come to confirm that it looks like red squirrels are getting into our house/attic. So we sealed the hole with aluminum flashing and screwed it in to close the hole off during the day. A few minutes later we saw a red squirrel running along the pole wires beside our house - a few days earlier we saw a red squirrel get some acorns from the house across ours and carry it to our roof so we are quite sure it is a red squirrel. Also during the day i can hear foot steps walking above my kitchen ceiling and some sratching and rollling noises. After we sealed the hole so far haven't heard any noises lately. BUT wondering how do we know if there are babies in our attic/house??? Heard that Sept is when these squirrels give birth. Is this true and any advise on how to tell if there are still babies stuck in our attic/house?? Really need help and this is very annoying for us and we just got our roof done in July 2012. Also would adding aluminum drip edging help prevent these squirrels from getting in our house? Thanks and please reply back asap with your suggestions. Thanks again!
