Norfolk wildlife control tip of the month: Removing rat from your house - With a problematic rat, there are more than a few options available to you if you want to get rid of it, and when you think of all the problems this critter can bring along, it is no wonder why the fastest removal method possible would be the right one for you to choose. Thankfully, there are plenty of options you have including: Removing the creature yourself. With the help of a trap and some bait, you can trap the creature and remove it as a problem from your home. You will need to research what to do once you have caught the critter however; there are rules and regulations surrounding animal release that you will need to adhere to. Call the local wildlife control guys. These people are trained and have the right knowledge to deal with this situation in the fastest, safest and most humane way possible. They may also have a few tricks up your sleeve that you won't have known about. Relocate the creature to a nest box in your yard. This doesn't remove the creature completely, however as we have mentioned, there are implications surrounding animal release once you have caught it. This can effectively work to remove the creature from your home and keep it confined safely in your yard. Kill traps and/or poison. These are methods that it is probably best to avoid, simply because there are so many factors to take into account and so many things to go wrong. This animal is not deliberately trying to annoy you, so it doesn't seem fair to want to exterminate it!

Reader mail feedback: Hi Wildlife Removal USA, I found your company's website online when I was searching for a company to help me get rid of the squirrels that have invaded my attic. Our yard is very naturalized, has many trees and a lot of wildlife. We have had areas of the fascia and soffits repaired previously where the animals had chewed their way into the attic but they have since returned and chewed their way back in again. I am very concerned about the damage the animals could be causing in the house so I am looking for someone to help me evict the squirrels from the attic and to find a way to prevent them from coming back. Do you do this type of work? If so, can you tell me some approximate fees for doing it? Thank you, Beverly

I read your article and we had squirrels in our roof and now there is one in between the wall and we cannot afford to get someone here to get it out. Should we cut a hole in the wall ourselves. We live in a trailer and our landlord does not care

Only cut a hole if the squirrel is definitely stuck, which is rare.

I would call the wildlife people but we cannot afford it and I think the squirrel fell because my son heard a thud and now we hear scratching towards the bottom of the wall in the bathroom. It will stop and then start again

Well, you may have to cut a hole in the wall.

Thanks. They got out. They had already made a hole where the toilet pipe was going into the wall and so I figured I will just open the back door and they can run out. So I opened the back door and it opened the way so I could block the hallway and straight across from there is the bathroom door so I opened that and then closed my bedroom door and left it a jar a little so I could make sure they left. And within 10 minutes they were out. I thought at first there was one so when that one went out I went to Lowes to get a patch kit for the hole and when I got back I heard another one in there ,so I did the same as before and that one left. They were not baby ones . Then later one was sitting on a tree branch watching me as I went out to the car and there was another one like talking to the other squirrel and they were both watching me. I know that because my son saw them and thought it was funny. I told him maybe its the ones I saved from being trapped in the wall. But anyway since then I have heard nothing other then a few times in the roof like they were moving there stuff out. So we will see,so far so good . And now it is so quiet that they are gone. They use to be very loud in the roof. A lot of runnung around and fighting it sounded like. Thanks for getting back to me . I am just glad I did not have to pay to get someone over here to get them out.
