What animals catch and kill snakes?

Despite the fact that snakes are feared and some are venomous, it doenst mean that they don’t have any predators. There are some animal species that actually catch and the kill the snakes. There are some species that can even be trained so as to carry out extermination of the snakes. The animals that hunt and finally kill snakes include lots of the raptors species like the eagles and the hawks. Honey badgers and the mongoose are also able to hunt and kill snakes. There are also the king snakes which eat the other snakes. The common dogs and cats we have within in our homes can also sometimes be able to catch the snakes and kill them. One thing about the mongoose is that importation is regulated especially in areas where it isn’t native. Its diet also makes it a destroyer of the habitat in a new environment. Urine of the mongoose may also be used to repel snakes with some level of efficacy but the public may not have access to this. When the snakes smell a mongoose, they get wary.

The African honey badger is also an amazing snake hunter and it is relatively immune to the venom of snakes. These are animals that can even handle cobras.

Other snake enemies include crows, alligators, snapping turtles, weasels, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, coyote’s ad owls.
